Taiwan Sign Language Online Dictionary App

The compilation of the Taiwan Sign Language Online Dictionary was under the supervision of Prof. Jane Tsay and Prof. James H.-Y. Tai. The current 3rd edition of the dictionary has over 3500 signs and each sign has been coded with two phonological features, handshape and location. These features can be used for linguistic analysis and also have been included as new search features.

Based on this dictionary, the Taiwan Sign Language Online Dictionary App was designed by the Advanced Network Technology Lab led by Prof. Ren-hung Hwang of the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering of the National Chung Cheng University, Taiwan.

You can look up a sign by using an English keyword or using Features of TSL which includes Handshape Search and Location Search.

Our sincere appreciation goes to our consultant and primary demonstrator Mr. Yu-shan Gu (Gu Ba), a former president of the National Association of the Deaf of the Republic of China (Taiwan). He is also a sign language lecturer of the National Chung Cheng University.
